Montjuïc is, without any doubt, one of the most beautiful places in Barcelona and, from the Olympic Games in 1992, one of the most symbolic places in the city. Montjuïc vibrate with emotion during those fantastic days which showed Barcelona to the world. Nowadays, Montjuïc is a large green area perfect to walk, to spend a sunny sunday morning or to enjoy the fantastic views of Barcelona from the castle or one of its viewpoints.
I would recommend the following route to discover Montjuïc:

Since it was conceived in 1929, El Poble Espanyol has been considered as a different, unique space in the city. The aim of its construction was to give an idea of what might be an "ideal model" of a Spanish village containing the main characteristics of all towns and villages in the peninsula. Its urban layout – a real village with streets and squares, without wheeled traffic and in the natural surroundings of the hill at Montjuïc - has helped to create a special microcosm
