The Torre Bellesguard was designed and built by Antoni Gaudí between 1900 and 1909 in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district. This neo-Gothic house stands at the foot of the Collserola Ridge, on a site which boasts fantastic views of Barcelona. Actually its name refers to the beautiful views –bell esguard – over Barcelona. Besides Gaudí designed a curious viaduct next to it, called Viaducte Bellesguard as a containing wall.

The Torre Bellesguard evokes medieval times, resembling a castle from the outside, with towers and battlements. The house was built with stone and brick, decorated with beautiful mosaics and wrought-iron details.
Currently, the Casa Bellesguard is a private property and surrounded by gardens. Nearby, in Carrer Bellesguard, you can see the Viaduct Bellesguard, also designed by Antoni Gaudí.

On the front door of Torre Bellesguard you can read "Maria Puríssima sens pecat fou concebuda (Immaculate Mary was conceived without sin)" written in wrought iron
