I've also made a short guide to the shopping malls that I think are worth a visit when you come to Barcelona

I've visited the short guide you have made and, as you said, I also think you have spoken about the most important shopping malls in Barcelona.

hi...the address above are not easi;ly found on google maps..could you please give exact address... i need it before wednesday to shop..thanks

Abhijeet said...

specially for the outlets... any idea how is la rocha compared to these? are the deals really good in la rocha compared to these outlets\/

Frank said...

First of all, Abhijeet, thanks for your comment because it helps me to improve this blog. Secondly, I have rewritten the addresses so that you can find them more easily.

Regarding the comparison between these oulets and La Roca Village (I think you mean La Roca Village when you say La Rocha),let you know that, perhaps, you can get better deals in La Roca, but there brands are usually of highest standing. That is to say, in these outlets discounts are maybe smaller but brands are cheaper too.

One of my dream place to visit was Barcelona and I am glad that I came across here. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you very much for your comment. It encourages me to keep sharing with you the city of Barcelona, the great city in which I live

Sara said...

Hi there.. I'm arriving to Barcelona on the 17th of April in a very tight 3 days schedule. I read all your comments above & many thanks for all the clarifications & guidance but I was hoping if you can advise me in what budget to consider if I'm shopping for a large number of friends & family from an outlet stores that sells good brands like Calvin Klein, Moschino, Valentino, Versace!
for example what would a female Top or a shirt cost since I'm gonna buy more than 15 tops or shirts plus 2-3 male shirts & three kids dresses or tops. do you advise me to try the Mango, Zara or H&M out lets

Frank said...

Hi Sara, firstly thanks for your comment. It's a bit difficult to advise you in which budget to consider because discounts generally vary from 30 to 70 % of its original price depending on the brand and the period of the year.
But I could say that, for example, it is possible to find Versace male shirts by little more than 50 euros.
Besides I advise you to try the Mango, Zara or H&M outlets on: probably you will find something you like and it will be cheaper.

Sara said...

Thanks Frank for the tip I'll surely take ur advice.. now I'll be staying at the Renaissance Barcelona Hotel which I love since it is near to all the places you mentioned above but now what do you recommend regarding food ( especially Fish!!! yummy) & restaurants that are Good, Close to my Hotel & Affordable for two... Again thanks for your time, I appreciate it.

Sara said...

Oh ya , I forgot to ask about nice places to have breakfast.
Have a nice day.

Frank said...

Sara, sorry for the delay in my response. I will answer as soon as possible.

Frank said...

Hello Sara,

Regarding places to have breakfast, I would suggest:

1) Cafe-Restaurant of El Corte Inglés of Plaça Catalunya on the ninth floor. Great views of Barcelona!
2) La Pallaresa (Address: Carrer Petritxol 11). Delicious chocolate.
3) La Valenciana (Address: Carrer Aribau 16)
4) Cafe Zurich in Plaça Catalunya, a popular meeting point in Barcelona.

Apart from La Pallaresa, these places are ten minutes (or less) walk from your hotel. But going to La Pallaresa has the added attraction that you have to walk through some of the most important shopping streets of Barcelona to reach this place: Passeig de Gràcia, Portal de l'Angel and Portaferrissa.

Hi Frank,

I will be in Barcelona on the 26th April onwards.

Will like to know the restaurant and shopping ares nearby my hotel, Melia Hotel.

As my schedule during this stay will be very tight, i hope you can stream line some places for me.

Thanks
Yenny

Frank said...

Hello Yenny,

First of all, thanks for your comment.

Near your hotel I would recommend the following restaurants:

Daps: Located in Avinguda Diagonal, 469.
Quaranta: Fantastic and cozy italian restaurant. Address: Carrer Nicaragua Street, 141 Local 2.

The shopping areas near your hotel would be:

- El Corte Inglés (Avinguda Diagonal, 471 and Avinguda Diagonal, 617).
- Illa Diagonal Shopping Mall (Avinguda Diagonal, 557).
- Pedralbes Centre (Avinguda Diagonal 609-615).

Besides the Avinguda Diagonal between Plaça de la Reina Maria Cristina and Plaça de Francesc Macià has a lot of fashion stores and boutiques.

Finally, you can't miss in Barcelona:

- Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Casa Milà (La Pedrera), Casa Batlló and
Palau Güell (All designed by Antoni Gaudí)

- Santa Maria del Mar, Santa Maria del Pi, Plaça del Rei and La Rambla in the Gothic Quarter (old city).

- Magic Fountain in Montjuïc.

- Olympic Marina

You will find more information of these places clicking on:

Best Regards,

Frank

Whats up this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience.
Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Hello,

I use blogger, which is a simple and friendly platform. Its post editor is similar to a word processor, so you don't need any knowledge of HTML language or programming skills. Indeed, the post editor of blogger is WYSIWYG, so it would be a suitable choice for you.

Hi we are coming to Barcelona this Thursday staying at Royal Ramblas Hotel, first of all wants to know if the hotel is good or not and if there is any recommendation for another one if this one is not good.

Also I need to know the top 3 malls near my hotel where I can find good deals as I am only staying for 3 days.

Any recommendation for restaurants to have lunch or dinner I am traveling with 2 kids aged 3 and 5 so if there is anything to entertain them as well will be great

Frank said...

Hi Dina,

Concerning the Hotel, it's really well located beside Las Ramblas. From it yo can reach easily a lot of interesting places in Barcelona, like the Gothic Quarter or the Port Vell (Old Port). Even you have a Metro Station (Liceu in Green Line) near the hotel. I have read that it's a good hotel but maybe not as good as the 4* stars it has.

Near your hotel you have the following malls: El Corte Inglés and El Triangle beside Plaça Catalunya (Catalonia Square) and Maremagnum in Port Vell (Old Port). Along Passeig de Gràcia you have a lot of stores and boutiques too. Besides it's pleasant to walk along this beautiful avenue.

I can recommend you two restaurants: Els Quatre Gats and Mercè i Vins.

For the kids you have the Aquarium in Port Vell and the Tibidabo Amusement Park (you can arrive there by bus from Plaça Catalunya).

I hope you will find useful this answer.
