IBIZA: LAS DALIAS HIPPY MARKET

Last summer I spent one fantastic week in Ibiza and Formentera. For five days we enjoyed the clear water beaches of Ibiza and the really beautiful old city of Ibiza town, called Dalt Vila.

The last day of this week we went to Mercado de las Dalias (Dalias Hippy market), one of the most popular places in Ibiza. This market is located near Santa Eulàlia des Riu and you can get there easily by bus from this town. The day was hot and the market was crowded, so we were not too long.

Besides we spent a lovely day in Ses Illetes in Formentera: the most beautiful beach I have ever seen in Spain together with Rodas Beach in Cíes Islands.

IBIZA: DALT VILA

The old town of Ibiza, called Dalt Vila, is lovely, so I wasn't surprised when I learned it is a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Entering through the Portal de ses Taules in the district of Sa Penya, we went throught an arcaded courtyard. From here a lively street full of small shops brought us to the city walls.

The views from the city walls of the cathedral, the harbor and the districts of Sa Penya and La Marina are really nice. Even far away you can see vaguely Formentera.

From the walls we walked through narrow streets to the Carrer Major, which leaded us to the charming Cathedral Square.

FORMENTERA: SES ILLETES BEACH

For years I have always heard of the beauty of the beaches of Formentera. This year I have eventually took a bath in them and enjoy its clear water and white sand, especially of Ses Illetes Beach.

From Figueretes beach in Ibiza we took a boat, which after a pleasant journey of one hour left us in the harbor of Sa Savina in Formentera. There we rent a bike in order to reach Ses Illetes beach. Before getting this beach, we stopped several times to enjoy the beauty of this area of Formentera.
