The narrow, labyrinthine streets of the Gothic Quarter come out into this unexpected place near the Barcelona Cathedral: a tiny square with a charming little fountain in the middle and overlooked by the baroque church of Sant Felip Neri. Without any doubt, one of the most beautiful places the Barcelona Gothic Quarter encloses.
When I visited this square for the first time I was really surprised by the peace and the romantic atmosphere I felt from the first moment. Besides, this square is a perfect starting point for a walk through the medieval jewish quarter of Barcelona.
You can also discover the medieval essence of Barcelona in other squares of the Gothic Quarter, like:
Next I would like to show you some of the pictures I took in this lovely square.

Plaça de Sant Felip Neri (Sant Felip Neri Square)
Overview of the romantic, slightly faded square of Sant Felip Neri, one of the most charming places inside the Barcelona Gothic Quarter
Sant Felip Neri is a peaceful square hidden between the narrow and charming streets of the Gothic Quarter
Next to the church, the school of Sant Felip Neri still survives
Esglèsia de Sant Felip de Neri (Sant Felip de Neri church)
The usual silence of Sant Felip Neri let you hear the sound of the bombs that fell from the sky one fateful January in 1938. You can still see the wounds etched into the façade of the church and they still seem to hurt
Walking along this narrow street of the Gothic Quarter I went from La Plaça de Sant Felip Neri to the cathedral
