The ferry of Hellenic Seaways left on time to Santorini, where we arrived at 11:50 am. We disembarked quickly to catch the first bus out to Fira and not to have to wait in the port of Athinios for the next bus. The bus was crowded. We arrived at the bus station of Fira after 20 minutes drive. It was a bit chaotic because of the arrival and departure of many buses and the amount of people there.

Our hotel was in Firostefani. At the hotel, the manager, Angeliki, told us all we had to know: restaurants, places to visit, supermarkets, bus stops. We went to the restaurant Aktaion 5 minutes from the hotel.

After having dinner we took a bus to Oia to enjoy the sunset. The bus was very crowded and we couldn't sit down. It was mid-September and we realized that buses were usually really crowded. In August it would be horrible. After 30 minutes drive we arrived at Oia, where many people had already arrived before us. We didn't walked around the town. Instead we went right to find a place to enjoy the sunset. It really was wonderful in spite of the amount of people everywhere. After the sunset, we decided to take only a short walk and catch the first bus back to Firostefani, which of course was full.

I think the sunset in Oia has been mythologized, perhaps because from this town the sun is visible until the moment it dives into the horizon. However it was so crowded that we almost had to struggle to find a point from where we could see the sunset quietly.
In the following days we saw the sunset from Firostefani and from Fira and from these towns they are as beautiful as the one from Oia and without so many people. So personally I liked them more.
We had dinner in Mama's House, one of the restaurants Angeliki recommended us and located near the bus station of Fira. We really enjoyed our meal.
