We took the bus number 2 to Knossos at 9 am at the bus station of Heraklio. Because of the traffic we arrived at the Palace of Knossos shortly before 10am although the journey was only 5 km.
After queuing to buy the tickets we began the visit at 10am. It's a bit late because it was already hot and there were few shady places. It is advisable a hat and water. The palace is huge and the visit became a bit long.

After a visit of 2 hours we came back to Heraklio by bus. In the same bus station of Heraklio, we took an express bus at 1:30pm to Agios Nikolaos, where we arrived an hour later, with the idea of having lunch there and walking through this typical holiday town in Crete.

Overview of Agios Nikolaos in Crete
The atmosphere of Agios Nikolaos is lively and it's very pleasant to walk around the lake. At 7pm we took the bus back, which this time left us in the port of Heraklio at 8pm. So we took the opportunity to collect the blue star ferry tickets from Mykonos to Piraeus we purchased online at Barcelona.
At 9pm we arrived at the hotel. After taking a shower we got off to a Greek taverna-style restaurant next to the hotel for dinner. We really enjoyed our meal and the owner was very nice.
