CATALONIA PYRENEES: LA GARROTXA

Near the Pyrenees, La Garrotxa is a beautiful region in Catalonia where you can enjoy amazing landscapes, visit lovely medieval villages and walk through beautiful mountains and volcanoes.

Living between volcanoes forms a part of the ordinariness of the olotenses, and is that Olot it's located inside The Volcanic Region of La Garrotxa. They find four volcanoes of which stands out the Montsacopa, one in the middle of the city.

During the three days we spent there, we enjoyed the following villages and activities:

  • Castellfolit de la Roca
  • Trekking in Sant Aniol d'Aguja
  • Besalú at night
  • Gorge of Molí de Murris
  • Vall de'n Bas Viewpoint
  • Santa Pau

Molí de Murris Gorge

On a previous visit to Olot, I enjoy a fantastic route (11km, 4h30min) through La Fageda de'n Jordà and the volcanoes of Santa Margarida and Croscat (Volcanic Region of La Garrotxa). Next you can see some pictures:
